Kanye West: “I Ain’t Crazy, I’m Just Not Satisfied” (Video)

Posted by: Scott

All eyes were on Kanye West last night, as he went on a rant about the media, his women’s fashion line, being snubbed by the Grammys and much more while performing at Atlantic City’s Revel Hotel, Resort and Casino. Kanye says:“They’ll try to tell you Kanye’s so crazy, so deranged… I ain’t crazy, I’m just not satisfied.”
“I am flawed as a human being. I am flawed as a person. As a man, I am flawed. But my music is perfect!” “This is the best you gon’ get ladies and gentlemen in this lifetime, I’m sorry. You could go back to Beethoven and sh-t, but as far as this lifetime, though, this is all you got.” “I love Maroon 5, but when I lost for Best New Artist to Maroon 5… Or when Watch the Throne and Dark Fantasy, neither of them got nominated for Album of the Year, or when “Ni**as in Paris” didn’t get nominated for Record of the Year… So don’t expect to see me at the Grammys this year, you nah mean?!”
“I will die for what’s in my heart.”

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Z.I.G

Posted by: Scott

Zig was born in Jennings, La. in 1982. His father left when he was 2 years of age, so his mother took him and relocated to Orange aka “Fruit City” where the rest of her family lived. He grew up in the low-rent housing projects in West Orange, raised by a close-knit immediate family. Very intelligent with a wild side he got into many things as a youngster. He had many friends and was very popular and loved to hang out on the block with his brothers the Armstrongs from N.Y. and all their bros… the boyz would play ball, wild out, have fun and at the end of the day freestyle non-stop. He was very heavily influenced by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, DJ Screw & The S.U.C. namely Lil’ Keke, Bone Thugs N Harmony and more recently Canibus, Eminem, Paul Wall & SwishaHouse, Jadakiss from the Lox and many other various true artists…Both during his free time and at school, he would freestyle with peers and made a few tapes which got a small buzz around the area. He later made his first serious tape entitled “Fruit City’z Greatezt M.C.” which he recorded in his grandmother’s back-room on a desk-top computer with a regular mic. His good friend named Patrick Tramel whom he met while working at the local Wal-Mart made his mixtape cover… he then started selling burnt physical copies of this tape. This gave him his first “buzz”. After being fired, he went on to work at various plants and other jobs around the area and left music alone for awhile but it was still burning in his heart and soul laying dormant. A few years passed and he was working at his most recent retail job, when his old friend Patrick Tramel aka P.A.T. came in and started talking to him… he said “B” I haven’t seen or heard from you in a while but I need you to get back on that mic… stuff’s too dope for you not to make muzic. This sparked the music flame back up and along with a young popular artist from around the area with a big buzz named “Yung Pooda”, Z.I.G. began making muzic again with his crew of broz like Patrick Tramel, Nic Reed and others. They call themselves Fruit City Faculty or F.C.F. for short. Z.I.G. started promo touring with other hot up and coming artists and went to Atl, Ga. to visit major places one in particular being the Blue Flame Strip Club with Big Phil and Louie Lio which ended up being the inspiration for his latest Mixtape… He dropped tracks on it which he has been working on with various artists such as Bigg Chris, Big Scott the Don, Dirk Mac, VashElite and many more including the F.C.F. He is now working with Elevated Scott and his team and is very deep and heavy in the music game right now…. AS he would say ” Z.I.G. / F.C.F. ’til INFINITY!

Joseph Chatman aka “Gutta” was born in Waco, Texas.
Growing up in a city of violence, crime and gangs, the only way he felt it was possible to get out of the hood was to pursue an education so he attended The Gary Job Corps. As a young kid, music had always influenced Gutta’s drive to become a hip hop artist.
Gutta was captured by music as a kid, which led him to make knowledge and understanding “Hip” for the hood. Influenced by hip hop artists such as Tupac, Ice Cube, Notorious BIG, and Scarface it wouldn’t be long before he developed a love for all genres of music, and now “A STAR IS BORN!”
Gutta’s first project was a mix tape titled: “Nawf 9th Hustler” in 2003 with AkkBad Entertainment out of Houston,Tx, in collaboration with Dj Panic out of Arlington,Tx. A$ap Rocky Ft. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar – Fuckin Problems

Posted by: Scott

Born & raised in Harlem, New York, ASAP Rocky is no stranger to the cliché rap lifestyle, popularized by fellow Harlem Patriarchs from Big L & Kool Moe Dee to Ma$e, and Cam’ron. However, Rocky’s entrenching yet melodic rap style has drawn more immediate comparisons to recently incarcerated Harlemite Max B.”Rocky” the Nickname given in part, from his birth name Rakim (after the legendary NY emcee),and in part for his scrappy, yet suave persona, would quickly embrace Harlem’s diverse music lineage. Raised by his Mother & Father, Rocky was exposed to soulful records such as those from Curtis Mayfield, and Marvin Gaye, in addition to the sudden wave of 90’s “Gangsta Rap”, as well as local Harlem talent. Feeling he had played student of the rap game for long enough, a young Rocky tried his hand at penning his first verse, after hearing his older brother pound out beats on the kitchen table. Instantly recognizing the talent in his sibling, he insisted Rocky not only finish the song but start a new hobby, combining his already popular nickname with the acronym ASAP, meaning To Accumulate Status And Power (also the name of Rocky’s Crew of Harlem Based contemporaries).Since that time music has changed drastically, but not ASAP Rocky’s ear for quality, as he began making his rounds on the local battle rap circle, and ghostwriting when the opportunity presented itself. By not limiting his musical inspirations geographically, Rocky maintains this diversity in his music today, drawing inspiration from such stark opposites as the Red Hot Chili Peppers & Hope Sandoval to Cee-Lo Green and MGMT. This diversity, evident in his viral debut “Purple Swag”, is clearly what rap fans have been craving, as the video amassed an impressive 100K+ views in a matter of days. Paying tribute to the screw legends of Texas and their infamous purple potion, but with a distinct Harlem flavor.
