Lady Gaga announced at the VMA‘s last night that her new album “ARTPOP” will be featuring rappers and she would only leak Too Short‘s name to MTV News’ Sway on the red carpet. Sway was stoked to hear that fellow Oakland artist will be featured on her new album that is releasing on November 11nth.
Too Short confirmed the rumors today saying he knew her DJ, DJ White Shadow, got back from traveling recently and White Shadow hit him up saying, “There’s a song that Lady Gaga’s doing that possibly they would want to get you on” and Too Short’s response was, “shit I’m down with it!”. He went on to tell MTV, ”I figure on her end it’s great to work with the classics or the legends and on my end just it’s great to work with one of the hottest artists on the planet. It’s a big fucking deal.”.
The song they are getting on is supposed to be released through a live performance that Too Short himself will be a part of. It should be a very interesting mix and it will be good for Too Short because he hasn’t been to active lately in hip hop news.-via 24HRHipHop

As with many grassroots cultural movements, street wear has been notoriously difficult to define. While under a constant state of evolution of style and creative direction (as with many street trends), one constant has been the types of clothing produced, commonly centered on “casual”, comfortable pieces such as jeans, t-shirts, baseball caps, and sneakers. New York’s Fashion Week is known for its high fashion designer collections, and TriBeCa is quickly becoming a major player in the fashion scene. Tribeca Urban Arts & Music Showcase 3.0 will allow lifestyle brands to be a part of the NYC fashion Week experience, while providing many more components than just the typical “runway show”. Invites are going out to all the top fashion boutiques in the tri-state area, professional athletes, recording artists, celebrities, bloggers, entertainment industry insiders and taste-makers .
Gallery 69 is home to both Graffiti Art New York dot com and X101Jamz.com, and over the last year the network and gallery have been featured on International-HipHop.com, Global Good Networks, SoulTrain.com, Time Out NY and countless other blogs and media outlets. Gallery 69 houses thousands of pieces of Urban art from some of the top street artist in the world that include; Crash, Futura 2000, Quick, Blade, COPE2, RD357, STAYHIGH 149, T-Kid , TAKI 183, CornBread, Seen, TRACY168, KING BEE NIC 707, Duro, Sonic, LA 2, Duster and countless other street art pioneers from the early 70’s and 80’s that are documented in history books as style masters of the culture. Also be sure to check out Peter Yip’s artwork during the event and visit his website at http://www.peterwyip.com.

Jay-Z is breaking some serious ground.
The Magna Carta Holy Grail rapper has officially ventured into the live art arena, currently setting up shop at Manhattan’s Pace Gallery. Jay Z to perform his new track Picasso Baby for SIX hours straight — much like The National did at the MoMa last May — Hova has taken to center stage, with cameras ready to reportedly document the entire performance and later compile it into the track’s music video! Jay totally understands the power of a live performance — particularly one that’s repeated over and over! This is genius.
